HI Carol, in your typically lovely style, you have left a typically thoughtful piece for us to reflect not only on issues of race and identity, but given us a poignant reminder of impermanence and the influence of perspective. Admirable writing!
Yes, Unfortunate, but from my perspective, now as then, people are out protesting against a government overstepping its mandate in a way that does not serve the people.
Hi Carol. Just to clarify my perspective, I do not see the protest as unfortunate, but perhaps inevitable, when the rights of people are trampled, and corruption and power pervade governments. I see the conditions which require people to come out to the streets to make their voices known and to protest the corporatization of the state as unfortunate. I know you may not have been intending to go to such a political place, but since you asked.....
Fascinating history - thanks for writing this.
Thanks, Sue. I appreciate the feedback!
Nicely constructed piece on the practice of racelessness/permanent disequilibrium.

Thanks, Jody! It's nice to know I'm not writing into the void. :-)

How kind of you, Paul. I appreciate hearing that the ideas resonate as France, once again, convulses.

Agreed. Curious what you see as a way to protest that does serve the people...? Or an alternative to protest?
